Construction Details

  • Roof- Architectural grade asphalt roof shingles were used. These shingles contain a higher than average rubber content, have a better appearance and a longer life.
  • Siding- The cedar siding, fascia and soffit materials were specially milled for the home.
  • Drainage- A foundation/footing drain system with an underground drain field was installed. The site did not contain high ground water and the drain system was installed as a “good construction practice”.
  • Foundation- The concrete and steel rebar foundation was poured in place and coated with a moisture protection product prior to being backfilled and compacted.
  • Exterior Stain- The stain used was formulated for above average weather protection.
  • Windows- Casement wood windows with UV protection were used. Select windows on the east and west side of the home have mechanically operated roll shades. Other windows have manual roll shades or wood blinds.
  • Exterior Stone Wainscot- McGregor Lake thin cut natural ledge stone was used.
  • Sheeting and Deck Materials- Roof and wall sheeting materials are all plywood. The main floor deck is 1 1/8” plywood providing for a very stable floor system.
  • Interior Wood- Alder was used for the following: base, window and door casings, crown molding, all cabinetry, closet and interior doors. Wide trim and large crown molding is used throughout the home.
  • Bathroom and Laundry Countertops- Corian or HI-MACS brand solid surface material was used in these areas.
  • Security System- The system includes perimeter door coverage and interior infrared motion detectors.
  • Whole House HRV- A whole house heat recovery and ventilation system introduces fresh air into the home while saving heated or cool temperatures from the exiting air.
  • Hot Water Heating System- Three electric hot water tanks are connected in series. The first two can receive heated water from the geo-thermal system prior to the regular hot water tank, thereby reducing hot water heating costs.
